Peerceptiv has an administrator dashboard available to administrators at partner schools and organizations. This provides the administrator with access to all courses and assignments at their institution. If you are a Peerceptiv user and want access to an administrator dashboard for your organization, please contact support@peerceptiv.com for eligibility information.
To access the dashboard, you must launch to Peerceptiv through your LMS and you must either have an admin role in your LMS or access approval from Peerceptiv. After launching to Peerceptiv through a course or assignment level link in your LMS, click our logo in the upper left corner of the top navy bar to view the admin dashboard.
The Peerceptiv admin dashboard has four main sections: Course, Assignments, Rubrics, and Users.
This article will walk through each of these areas in order. Scroll down to read them all or you can jump to the section that discusses a specific area in this article.
Courses
The top of the Courses page displays the total number of active courses and archived courses at your institution. This is a total count, not the count for the current semester or year. The graph to the right of the course count is the number of active courses for each semester of the past year at your institution.
The active courses are displayed by default. Click All to view all active and archived courses created at your institution, or Archived to see the courses that instructors have removed from student access. Instructors can choose to archive a course at any time, which makes the course unavailable to students but allows the instructor and administrators to access the course.
You can join a course as an instructor, search for a course by name, and if you click the list icon at the right of the screen, you can view the courses in a list. This view gives you additional information, including the course creator and the date when it was created. These headers are sortable. The 'Type' column indicates if a course is in Peerceptiv sync or async mode. The blue clock indicates Peerceptiv Sync mode and the orange alarm clock with a line through it indicates it is Peerceptiv Async mode.
Click on a course to view the course details, assignments, and roster.
Peerceptiv Course Templates
Course templates allow a school administrator to create Peerceptiv courses and assignments that can be easily copied into instructors' courses. Templates are not active courses and do not have assignment deadlines or students. However, if there is a course or assignment(s) that multiple instructors will be using, this is the easiest way to make it available to others at your institution. Any course template you create will become immediately available to all users at your institution once it is published.
Click the Templates tab and then New Template to create a master course. Complete the information requested. Please put the semester as either the current semester or the first semester that the course will be run. You can add assignments without deadlines to the templates. When the template is copied into a course, the instructor or admin will be prompted to add the appropriate deadlines for that semester.
Please add all assignments, settings, and rubrics before copying the template or having instructors copy it. Changes made to a template course are not retroactive to courses copied from that template and those courses would need to be changed individually. Template Courses can be copied into live courses when starting from a course in the LMS, instructors need to select to copy a course and then select the "Templates" tab to select to copy a template course.
Assignments
Click on Assignments to view all of the assignments created by instructors at your institution.
The top row has three summary graphs. The list of active assignments shows you how many assignments are published and in progress at the moment at your institution. The total is the total number of assignments ever created at your institution.
The middle graph breaks down the total assignments by assignment type. Peer assessment are individual assignments with at least a submission and reviewing phase. Peer evaluation assignments do not involve submissions and ask participants to rate their group members or other individuals in the course on the quality of their participation. Group peer assessment assignments involve groups submitting and reviewing peer work. Other assignments include instructor-graded only assignments and instructor-upload assignments.
The chart on the right displays the number of active assignments broken down by semester for the past year. It does not distinguish by assignment type and does not include unpublished assignments.
Below the graphs is a table of assignments created at your institution. Use the search bar to search for a specific assignment. You can enter dates to search for assignments created during specific time periods. If there is an associated LTI Resource Link, that is also displayed.
Clicking on the Templates tab allows you to view any assignments that you have created within a course template. Assignments cannot be created outside of a course, so if you would like to create an assignment template, you must do so within a course template. Any course and assignment templates you create will become immediately available to all users at your institution.
Rubrics
The rubrics screen lists all rubrics created by individuals at your institution. The top chart shows the number of rubrics created and the number of prompts (individual rubric criteria) created. Below that is a table listing the rubrics and information about each.
If you create rubric templates from the admin dashboard, they will automatically be rubric templates that are not associated with any specific assignment. If you have multiple instructors, courses, or assignments that use the same rubric, we recommend creating it as a template. This is the best way to share rubrics.
After a rubric template has been created, click on the three dots under the 'options' column. You can copy a rubric, rename it, share it, or delete it. To share a rubric, you will need to know your colleague's email address.
If there is a rubric that you use frequently or want to be able to find easily, click on the star icon. That will make it a favorite and you can sort by that column header.
The 'Comments' tab allows you to view all comment prompts and create comment prompts as templates. The 'Ratings' tab is similar. It allows you to view all rating prompts and create template rating prompts.
Rubric Tags
Rubric tags allow you to track student progress across rubric items, assignments, and courses. If you associate your rubric rating prompts with specific tags, you can track student learning outcomes for those tags. For instance, if a course or program has a learning objective like improving student use of sources, the rubric rating prompts related to that objective can be tagged with 'use of sources." You'll then be able to track how students at your institution performed on all rubric rating prompts with that tag, thus allowing you to track that specific standard or objective in aggregate, across multiple rubric criteria, rubrics, assignments, and courses, for everyone at your institution.
Users
The users tab allows you to see all users at your institution. The graphs show you general user activity at your institution and let you compare user activity over time for the past year.
In the table, you can sort and search by name, email, role, date their account was created, and when they were last active. You can also see if they are accessing Peerceptiv through the LMS (LTI Connected) and who has MFA Enabled (if not using SSO with the LMS).
By clicking on a name, you can act as that person, mark them as paid for those in student purchase classes, and manage MFA access if they have it turned on. From the admin dashboard, you can disable MFA access for users at your university. To turn MFA access on for everyone at your institution, please email support@peerceptiv.com. To turn MFA access on for a single user, you can act as that individual or contact them to follow the steps in the Multi-Factor Authentication article.
From the user's detail page, you can also can email them using the email icon, view their account details, view an activity graph, and click on the Performance tab to see how they scored on specific rubric rating prompts and rubric tags.
Click the track button to view the data that forms the basis for the average mastery percentage.
