Peerceptiv is an anonymous peer-review tool that increases collaboration, provides learners with more feedback more quickly on assignments, and has been shown to help improve students' critical analysis and writing skills.
Please follow the correct set of instructions for your class. Not following the log-in information given to you by your instructor may mean you do not join the correct class or your Peerceptiv grades will not pass back to your instructor's grade book. If you have problems logging in or joining the correct class, please contact support@peerceptiv.com.
If your organization requires Multi-Factor Authentication or you want to enable it for your own direct login to the Peerceptiv site, please set it up with these Multi-Factor Authentication directions.
This article covers:
- Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through your course website (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, etc.)
- Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through the Peerceptiv website via an email from your instructor
- Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through the Peerceptiv website via a join code
Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through your course website (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, etc.)
When accessing Peerceptiv in your course website on your school’s Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, or Brightspace by D2L), you should always go through the Learning Management System to get to your Peerceptiv assignment.
- We recommend that you use Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Your browser needs to be set to accept cookies, and you may need to clear your browser cache.
- Log into your LMS and access your course's site.
- Click on the assignment link within your course website. This will register your account and place you in the correct course. If you purchased a special order code from your school bookstore, this is when you will be prompted to enter the bookstore code.
- Note: you may need to use a lap top or personal computer when accessing Peerceptiv in an LMS. There are some instances where a mobile screen will not be able to accommodate the course website and Peerceptiv in the same window.
In Canvas, for example, you can click on Peerceptiv in the left navigation bar, if your instructor has added it there, or you’ll see something like the link shown below.
Again, please always access Peerceptiv through the course website if your instructor has set this up. You will NOT be able to see assignments if you do not access the tool through the LMS.
Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through the Peerceptiv website via an email from your instructor
If your instructor registers you for the Peerceptiv course, you’ll receive an activation link in an email to validate your account and access Peerceptiv. If you do not receive this link, first check your spam or junk folder, and then please contact your instructor.
- We recommend that you use Chrome or Firefox as your browser. Your browser needs to be set to accept cookies, and you may need to clear your browser cache.
- If this is your first time using Peerceptiv, click Register and enter the registration information.
- You will need to create a password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters in length, and must contain a lowercase letter, a capital letter, a symbol, and a number. Select Student as your role. You will also need to read and accept Peerceptiv's Terms and Conditions before you can sign up.
- After signing in, your screen will look like this (See screenshot below). Click on the class name to see the assignment.
Accessing Peerceptiv assignments through the Peerceptiv website via a join code
Note: these instructions DO NOT apply to codes purchased through your school bookstore. If you have a bookstore code and log in via a course website, like Canvas, you should click in through Canvas and will be prompted to enter the code then.
If your instructor provides you with a Peerceptiv class code, you will need to register your account yourself. You will need the class code to join, so please open the email or site where your instructor shared the code with you.
