If you are an authorized administrator in Peerceptiv, on your admin dashboard you’ll have access to both a Data Download, which is a spreadsheet with your organization’s usage data, and a Data Dashboard where you can view learning outcome growth data and general completion data at the course, assignment, and individual level.
To view the dashboard, you should first access Peerceptiv by logging in directly or clicking any Peerceptiv link in your institution LMS (Canvas, Brightspace, etc).
From there, click the Peerceptiv logo in the upper left corner of your screen and you’ll see tabs across the top of your admin dashboard and can select the Data Download or the Data Dashboard.
How to Use the Data Download
Choose the time frame for the data export and click Download. We will supply an excel spreadsheet of the active courses from your institution that were created during that time frame and include the instructor, creation date, number of assignments, and number of students in each course. Please note that there may be courses which were active but not “created” during that time frame which could be excluded from the data provided in the spreadsheet. For example, if you want to see all courses which ran in the spring, you may want to extend the date range into December or earlier to capture courses that were created before spring started.
How to Use the Data Dashboard
The data dashboard tracks rubric tag data and completion data for all of the courses at your institution. If you would like to track learning outcomes data using the data dashboard, then instructors must have tags on their rubrics, as the tags are used as the organizing principle for those outcomes. You can still track completion data, but you will not see learning outcomes data if instructors do not utilize tags on their rubrics.
The data dashboard visualizations will show tag data growth over time.
Step 1: Search for and select the courses for which you would like to view data visualizations. There is a 20 course maximum limit.
Step 2: The assignments from the courses you selected will populate in a list on the right side of the screen. The assignments are ordered chronologically by creation date. You may reorder these assignments as needed. They should be ordered from oldest to newest.
Scroll down to view the Growth Trend graph and use the drop down arrow to change the tag that the graph populates. Hover over each of the points on the graph to see the full assignment name and average percentage score.
As you scroll down the page, the graph below shows the “Counts of Participant Growth Trends for Tags.” This graph will show the number of learners who improved, stayed the same, or declined over time for each of the tags on your rubrics, according to the assignment sequence you selected at the top of the page. Another way to say it is that this graph analyzes how many learners improved/stayed the same/declined on a specific tag from the first assignment listed to the last assignment listed in your assignment sequence.
Below that, you’ll see the Course Tag Averages bar graph and a list of the top performing learners according to their overall tag averages. Each tag is listed on the bottom of the graph and the overall tag average is shown according to a percentage point scale. The list of top performing learners shows the highest overall tag averages for the learners in the course. Click more at the bottom to see all learners organized from highest average score to lowest.
Lastly, the bottom of this page shows the assignment completion rates which analyzes all assignment tasks required versus completed for each assignment. The table on the right shows the number of assignment tasks that were completed for the course in total.
How to View Individual Learner Data on the Data Dashboard
Scroll to the top of the page and click the “Individual Overview” tab. You’ll see all the learners in the course listed in the left sidebar. From there you can choose to sort the learners by All Tag Average or a particular tag and then order the list by growth trend high to low, growth trend low to high, score high to low, or score low to high. The green upward trend arrows mean the learner improved on that skill over time, the blue flat line indicates no improvement, and the red downward trend line means the learner declined in skill growth for that tag.
Click on any learner’s name in the list to view their specific learning data and then click on any specific tag on the right side to view their data for that tag.
You can hover your cursor over the individual data points to see the average score for that data point and the name of the assignment that is associated with that point. You can then actually click on a specific data point for any particular assignment and go directly to that learner’s submission for the assignment.
