There are multiple ways to add students to a Peerceptiv course. Please use the one that best aligns with how you are using Peerceptiv and what will be the easiest for your students.
Add students through:
Peerceptiv instructor seats are always free, but student seats must be purchased. Please contact info@peerceptiv.com about purchasing seats for your course, department, or school.
If you will be using the student purchase method through credit card or the campus bookstore, the students will have to purchase their seat before they can access their course assignments.
LMS Roster Sync
If you are using Peerceptiv through Canvas, Blackboard or Brightspace by D2L and your organization has an unlimited contract with Peerceptiv or you use student purchase, your full student roster will be automatically added to the Peerceptiv roster. You may need to re-open Peerceptiv from the associated LMS course to see the full roster. If you are using Sakai (Bridges) or another LMS, then the roster will populate with a student's name when they click on the assignment link in the LMS.
If you are using Peerceptiv through an LMS and purchase seats for student use, then you will need to sync the roster for it to populate. Open Peerceptiv from the LMS course and then click on the course name at the top right of the Peerceptiv course and select Roster. Click Sync Roster at the left to see the roster populate. If there are more students in your LMS course than Peerceptiv seats you have purchased, you will need to purchase additional seats for roster sync to work. Contact support@peerceptiv.com with questions about this.
Use Sync Roster to update the student roster if there have been changes to the LMS roster. This will remove students from the Peerceptiv roster if they are no longer on the LMS roster and have not completed any work in this Peerceptiv course.
Uploading a course roster
*Note: This is not necessary for LMS users, unless you are setting up groups without group sync and need to populate the roster first.
To upload a course roster, begin by formatting your roster in a spreadsheet with the student names listed in this format: first name, last name, email address. You can copy and paste from a spreadsheet with 3 columns: one for first name, last name, and email.
Then, in Peerceptiv click the course name in the top right corner and Roster in the navy box that drops down.
Select whether you want to upload students or instructors via the tab at the top. Next, click the plus sign button on the lower left to add your names and email addresses.
You can type the students’ names and email addresses in or you can copy and paste a list as long as it is in the format: first name, last name, email address. To paste it in, put your cursor in the top box in the First Name column, right click, and paste. Multiple rows will populate when you paste the data.
After clicking Add, you will see the students in the roster. The roster also shows the student pseudonyms and their payment status, if the class uses student purchase. Add students by clicking on the plus sign in the circle on the lower left or download the roster with the circle on the right. You can search by student, sort by column, or move to other pages.
Adding students via this method will send an email to them, prompting them to click on the link to confirm their account.

Using a Course Code
The third method for adding students is to give students the course join code. The class code is the 32-digit string of letters and numbers on the course page on the right side of the box. Please send it to your students in a format so they can easily cut and paste the code when they go to join the course.
