These directions are intended to be used after Peerceptiv has been configured for your course by a Blackboard administrator. The first set of instructions assume you have Peerceptiv available in the “Content Market.” If Peerceptiv is not available in the “Content Market" or "Institution Tools," use the alternate set of instructions.
If your course is set to the original view in Blackboard Learn (not Ultra), please view our instructions for using Peerceptiv in Blackboard Learn.
If you plan to use Peerceptiv in Blackboard, you must always start by creating a new assignment link in Blackboard for each Peerceptiv assignment. Then, instructors and students can access those assignments by clicking the links in Blackboard.
Create an Assignment Link
1. In Course Content, hover over the line above or below already existing content and then click the plus sign. Choose “Content Market.”
2. In the Content Market, scroll down to “Institution Tools,” and click the small plus sign in the corner of the box that says “Peerceptiv.”
3. This will take you back to the Course Content and there will be a new content link that says “Peerceptiv.” Click on the three dot menu next to that link and select “Edit.”
4. Hover over the large Peerceptiv title and a small pencil will appear. Click there and edit the name of the content link to be your desired assignment name.
5. Change the assignment description if desired.
6. Important: Check the box that says “Create Gradebook Entry For this Item.”
7. Set the due date as the Submission Deadline in Peerceptiv.
8. Set the maximum number of points for this assignment in your grade book. Peerceptiv will automatically send a percentage grade back to Blackboard and it will convert to an equivalent point value.
9. Select a category if desired.
10. Click Save.
11. This will take you back to the Content screen. Click on the newly created assignment link.
The first time you create a Peerceptiv assignment in a new course, you’ll be taken to your course creation page. Choose Create a New Course and complete all Peerceptiv-side course settings and click Create.
Then, close the Peerceptiv tab and click back in from the Blackboard assignment link. Now, you should be taken to the assignment creation page. You can choose to add a Standard Workflow, to Build a Custom Assignment, or to Copy an Assignment. When finished, be careful not to create additional assignments on the Peerceptiv side unless you have clicked in from a corresponding Blackboard assignment link.
Students are automatically added to the roster and will have single sign-on access when they click on teh Blackboard assignment link.
