Peerceptiv Team Member Evaluation allows you to rate your team members' contribution to the group according to the areas identified by your instructor. Team Member Evaluation is anonymous; your group members will see the comments that you leave, but they will not know which group member wrote them.
This article discusses:
Accessing the Peerceptiv Team Member Evaluation
If you have never used Peerceptiv before, you will first need to log into Peerceptiv and create an account. After creating an account or if you already have one, you can continue with the directions below.
- If you are using Team Member Evaluation apart from a peer-reviewed assignment, continue reading.
- If you are using Team Member Evaluation as part of a peer-reviewed assignment, first follow these directions and then read below to complete the Team Member Evaluation task.
Completing a Team Member Evaluation
To use Team Member Evaluation, click into your course and then click on the assignment link. That will bring you to the screen below:
First, click on Manage Your Group to see if you are already part of a group. If you have already been assigned to a group and all of the group members are correctly listed on the page, you do not need to do anything additional.
Manage Your Group: Join a Group
If you are not yet part of a group, you must join a group before you can complete the Team Member Evaluation. To join a group, add the email address(es) of all group members, separated by commas. Use the email addresses issued by your school/organization. Then, click Add a Group Member. You will automatically be added to that group.
Once your group is complete, click on the course assignments page at the top right corner. (Note that the link will be the course name + Assignments.)
Evaluate Your Group Members
After you are part of a group, you are ready to evaluate your group members . Go back to the course assignments page and click View Assignment. Then, Open Team Eval.
There, you will see the characteristics that your instructor wants you to assess. Read the first characteristic and rate your team members according to those criteria. Give each member a score based on how fully they meet the description listed at the top of the page, with a score of 5 being high and a score of 1 being low. Scroll down the page until you have rated all of the group members in all of the criteria.
Once you have provided all of the numeric ratings, click Next to write comments about how each group member met that criteria. When you provide feedback, remember that the best feedback is specific and constructive. Praise a team member for their good contributions. Offer specific suggestions for ways they can improve. You can read Be a Helpful Reviewer for other suggestions about being a good reviewer.
Understanding Your Team Member Evaluation Results
After the review period is over, you can see your group members' feedback and your results (grade) by going to that assignment, clicking View Assignment, and then Team Eval Results or View Results.
Click Team Eval Results to see the ratings and then View Comments to see any comments about your participation in the team.
To see your results (grade), click View Results. Team Member Evaluation ratings do not affect your assignment grade. Your task grade includes the Team Member Evaluation. This means that if you completed the Team Member Evaluation for every team member before the deadline, you will receive full credit for this task, or a grade of 100%.
If you are completing a team member evaluation as the last step of a group assignment, rating all members before the end of the review period will count as 1/4 of the task grade (submitting a document, reviewing documents, back-evaluating reviews, and completing the Team Member Evaluation).
