Peerceptiv allows for group assignments as well as traditional peer assessment.
To set up a group assignment, please choose Group Submission as the Assignment Type. You can use these recommended settings to set up your group assignment.
In group assignments, students enroll in groups and submit their work as a group.
Reviewing, however, is an individual process, in which each student completes their own reviewing work. Depending on the settings in the instructor selects, students complete 1 to 3 reviews. This recommended number of reviews per student is lower in group assignments to avoid excessive feedback workload.
Finally, the Feedback step is a group process. Any student in the group can compose and edit feedback responses.
Set Up and Manage Groups
- Once you've created your group assignment and your rubric, you can create groups yourself or you can have students enroll themselves in groups.
- If you'd like to enroll students yourself, access the Group Management button on the Assignment Overview page. You must have students in your course roster to be able to set up and manage groups. If you are using an LMS, use the "LMS Group Sync" button to import your groups from the LMS into your course.
- Another way to create groups is to click CSV Group Upload and use this Google spreadsheet to copy and paste names, email addresses, and group numbers from your class list or LMS. Once the group lists have been generated in the spreadsheet, copy and paste the groups into Peerceptiv.
Alternatively, on the Group Management page, you can click Add Group and drag and drop students into the correct groups. You can move students from one group to another.
3. If you plan to have students enroll themselves, they will add their group members using their peers' email addresses. To do so, students will click Manage Your Group on their assignment page. They will then enter each group member's email address.
Group members will receive a shared Submission grade and Feedback task grade, while they will receive their own individual Reviewing and reviewing task grade.
