This article will tell you how to override student grades. You can manually override any component of a student's grade after the Feedback deadline.
You may want to enter a Teacher Review for a student during the Reviewing Phase in order to influence their grades. For more information about this, read How to Enter a Teacher Review. For more information about adjusting Grading Settings in general, please read Adjust Grading Settings.
Please note that grades that have already been overridden will not be influenced by any future Re-Calculate Grade actions. Thus, if you have overridden a grade and later need to re-calculate grades, please check any overridden grades to make sure that they are still correct in light of the grade recalculation for the class.
To Override a Grade:
1. Click on Results on the left side navigation bar. Click Toggle Full Results, if desired, to see a detailed breakdown of the grades. Then, click Override in the row of the student whose grades you wish to override.
2. The full grade display will appear. You can change the task grade, accuracy grade, helpfulness grade, and submission grade to the correct grade out of 100. That percentage grade will automatically be weighted by the Peerceptiv algorithm. If you would like to view the student’s submission first, click on their name and then click View Submitted Document.
You can add a reviewing or submission late penalty from this screen, but if you want to remove the late penalty, go to Stats and click on the assignment name - View Detailed Stats - Late documents or Late Reviews. Then, click Remove penalty by any students whose penalty you want to remove.
On the override screen, click Override when you have finished to save the changes that you made. If you click Delete, you are deleting the override and NOT the student's grade.
Please remember that you cannot override grades until the assignment has finished (the final deadline of the assignment has passed) and that if grades have been published, students will see the grade changes that you make.
Anytime you manually override grades, it is a good idea to click Recalculate Grades on the main assignment dashboard afterward. If grades have already been released to students or the LMS, this will release the updated grades.
If grades have not yet been released, you can recalculate the grades and then click Release Results to Students in the Results section.
