If you are setting up a Peerceptiv course on the Peerceptiv site, www.go.peerceptiv.com, you can follow this video for how to set up your course and add students. If you are creating a course linked to your school's LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace by D2L, etc.), start with the LMS-specific directions.
Set up your basic course information and settings to get started with Peerceptiv.
- If you use go.peerceptiv.com, log in and click Create New Course.
- If you use an LMS, you will be taken directly to the new course creation screen the first time that you create an assignment link in a new LMS course. Each course in your LMS will be linked to one Peerceptiv course. Click here if you need help creating an assignment in your LMS.
Complete the chart with the required information to create a new course or click to copy an existing Peerceptiv course into this one.
Add the course name, institution and course discipline. Then, select the appropriate year and term.
The Deadline Time refers to the time of day when you want all submissions or tasks to be due. This will be the same time for all assignment tasks for all assignments. Please set the deadline time for 11:59 pm and not midnight.
Next, please select the correct Course Time Zone. This is important to avoid students receiving late penalties or being blocked from assignment tasks.
For Student Purchase Option, only select Yes if your students will be paying by credit card or through the campus bookstore. Keep the default No if the instructor or institution purchases the seats.
Allow Review without Upload: This setting defaults to "No." If this setting is set to "Yes," students can perform reviews of peer submissions without uploading their own submissions. No matter the selection for this setting, students are always prevented from uploading a late submission after they've performed reviews.
Keep the default No for Enable Async Mode unless you have discussed running asynchronous, mastery-based assignments with the Peerceptiv support team. Async assignments only have one deadline and use threshold grading.
Then, click Submit. You can always view and edit your course settings by clicking on Course Overview or the course title at the center of the top navigational bar.
